DEBIT OR CREDIT Card, What To Use For Online Purchases?

    By Amit Sharma | POVs | 0 comment | 27 August, 2020 | 2

Now a days our 80% transactions are online and we do it through online/net banking, money transfer platforms like paytm, phone pe etc, credit cards. But People are reluctant to use debit cards.

Here are 3 reasons of not using it over other modes of payment
    1) Not having enough money in their account
    2) Due to data security reasons and the fear of data being getting hacked, tracked & misused
    3) No freebies, offers , vouchers and other benefits on using debit cards

Point 2 & 3 seems to be a valid reason of not using debit cards. That’s fair to be replaced by a credit card with some limit in place (recommended max upto Rs 75,000/- per month). One can always increase the limit in case of deficit and other unavoidable emergencies.

Credit card provides the best hedge to your personal account data security. Hackers are blocked from using access to your personal account & a debit card.

So what I wanted to say is one should be reluctant to use debit card for any online transaction. It is always advisable to use the same for withdrawing cash from ATMs only.
